Big, bold, high alcohol California zin. Probably best appreciated sipped solo as a “cocktail hour” wine. There’s a 25,505 case production (not bottles, CASES!) on the 2009 Saldo Zinfandel, and I guarantee it will STILL sell-out! Place. The Saldo bears a simple “California” appellation for good reason. The grapes are sourced from prime vineyards in Sonoma, Napa, Lake County, Amador, Mendocino, and Contra Costa.

The palate is mouthwatering and smooth with a hint of Saldo sources grapes from California’s finest and most renowned Zinfandel regions and American Viticultural Areas (AVAs), including Dry Creek, Sierra Foothills, Sonoma Valley, The Talmage Bench in Mendocino, Lodi, and the Moon Mountain District of Sonoma County. Rich and dense with intense fruit flavors and ample tannins, the full-bodied Zinfandel is typically produced from vineyards with very old vines and often with very ripe or slightly overripe grapes. Highly concentrated fruit flavors are balanced by ample tannins, making this Zin ideal with heavy, robust dishes such as roast lamb, meat stews, hearty pastas, or barbequed dishes. The 2018 Saldo is a blend of 85% Zinfandel and 15% of Petite Sirah and Syrah that aged in a mix of mostly neutral American and French oak barrels. The grapes come from a mix of vineyards in Dry Creek Valley, Lodi and the Sierra Nevada foothills. Futures Policy.
